The Great Minnesota Get Together!

Welcome to the Great Minnesota Get Together! I have no idea why they call it that but it sure was great!

We parked my car far away and took a bus to the fair grounds. After all that traveling we were pretty thirsty. Up until this year they served 3.2 beer at the fair. Luckily they put an end to that craziness. Yum Summit EPA.

At the fair they have all sorts of animals. This is the cow barn. I really wanted one. Aren't they cute?

I'll take that nice one in the front.

Ryan liked this one. He didn't really want to get too close to it though. I can't imagine why. Oh and watch where you step in the cow barn.

The Minnesota fair is huge. They have lots of really cool old buildings that only get used once a year. This is where the biggest pig in the state lives.

If you saw the biggest pig you got a sweet hat. Ok they were supposed to be for kids but hey I thought they were cute.

After looking at all those pigs we were pretty hungry. Normally I would be disgusted by corn dogs but at the fair they are a-ok. The two Summit EPAs helped too.

They had a great display at the Eco Building. This is the roof Ryan and I are going to have on our house. It also works for napping.

Also in the Eco building they had a house made of ecologically sound materials. This is a picture of a cool water catcher thing that waters a garden of native plants. There was also a rain barrel water catcher.

The only thing I had to see at the fair was the deep fried dill pickles. We finally found them right before we left. We got the super fancy kind with cream cheese in between two pickles then they deep fried it.

I'm pretty sure Ryan liked them more than I did! We had a great time at the Minnesota State Fair!
