Sailing in Door County

When we got to the boat on Friday night there was a crazy amount of wind. So much wind that this picture is blury. No really!

    That's me in the boat.

My mom knew after that five hour drive I'd definately need a glass of wine. Luckily she gave us some motion sickness pills along with it. Did I mention the boat was rocking like crazy at the dock. Ya and I haven't spent the night on the boat in a long time. I'm sure I would have been sick if I hadn't taken that medicine.

The next morning after a great breakfast at the Serving Spoon we were ready to get going to Egg Harbor!

And what do you do when you are sailing? Drink a Summer Shandy, that's what. P.S. I hate that picture but Ryan likes it.

Ryan really liked sailing. He did forget to bring any long sleeve shirts so he had to buy one. Did I mention it was cold?

Ahh no one is at the wheel! Just kidding the Autohelm is in charge.

The next morning a duck came to visit us. Ryan was pretty excited to feed him. We gave him one piece of bread and sent him on his way. The duck swam away for a while but then he came back, with a bunch of his friends. Not only was the duck smart enough to remember where the food was he brought his buddies back to get some.

There were two ducks that all the other ducks wouldn't let go near the boat. And to think I thought ducks were just tasty, they are amazingly smart and manipulative animals!

Pretty soon it was time to head back across the bay. It really looked like it was going to storm. Then it started to blow like stink. Luckily we had a nice downwind sail back. Until the big rollers started.

I see you! There wasn't much to do but huddle under the dodger cause it was pretty cold. But as always it was still fun!

Ryan was sad we had to leave the boat.

The sun came out for just long enough to take a picture. What a bunch of dorks, eh?
